Ceelox ID® enrolls a new user's fingerprint by conducting several scans of each of two or more fingers. When it obtains sufficient data on each enrolled finger, it builds a biometric template. Ceelox ID® notifies the user that enrollment was successful. At each subsequent user logon, Ceelox ID® prompts the user to authenticate by placing an enrolled finger on the fingerprint scanner. The software then compares data obtained from the fingerprint scan to the user’s data file. If the two sets of data match, Ceelox ID® grants access. At no time is an image of the user’s fingerprint captured and stored. Instead, minutia points about the user’s fingerprint are captured and used to create a unique biometric template. The chance of a false positive, granting unauthorized access is 10 to the 7th power.
Ceelox ID® securely encrypts all data (both enrollment and log on) that defines a user fingerprint and then encrypts it a second time to insure its security. In addition, the software makes it impossible for an unauthorized user who deciphers a user fingerprint file to successfully authenticate using that deciphered data.
Ceelox ID® installs easily on a network server or single user personal computer. The server edition is highly scalable and supports Windows Active Directory credentialing. Ceelox ID® supports Active Directory to allow the user to access any secured location with a Single Sign On (SSO). SSO provides convenience to the user, and eliminates the need for multiple passwords which can be forgotten or lost, consuming costly help desk time.
